A pulmonary or sleep-medicine visit may be appropriate for persistent cough, wheezing, shortness of breath, asthma or COPD concerns, loud snoring, witnessed pauses in breathing during sleep, insomnia, disrupted sleep, or excessive daytime sleepiness. Patients may also be referred for pulmonary testing, sleep-apnea evaluation, or ongoing specialty follow-up.

What should I bring to my visit?

Bring your medication list (including inhalers), any recent test results, a photo ID, your insurance card, and notes about your symptoms or sleep patterns.

Do I need a sleep study?

Not every patient needs a sleep study. Your clinician will evaluate your symptoms first and explain whether testing is appropriate.
